About My Clients
Many of my clients are in their early to mid-adulthood & are overwhelmed by what life keeps throwing at them, and/or by what happened to them. They are tired of feeling angry, anxious, sad, angry, or hopeless. Anxiety, depression, and overeating/drinking are all signs of deeper, underlying issues so I help my clients regain find peace, forgiveness, and passion for living again.
My Background and Approach
I use an integrative approach that often incorporates EMDR, CBT, DBT, ACT, Internal Family Systems (Parts work) Polyvagal Somatic & Psychodynamic therapies to help you with your present issues, as well as move past difficult experiences. Every client is different so I vary my approach depending on their trust-level, challenges, and needs. My clients appreciate my warm, down-to-earth, compassionate, energetic, and direct style. I am big on helping my client see their strengths (yes, you actually have tons of them!). My past experiences in leadership, mentoring, and coaching as well as my own mental health challenges, add a practical side to my client’s therapy. I see clients virtually & in person. Some insurances are taken (Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna) & cash pay ($150 per hour)
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The reason I became a therapist later in life is to be able to give back. feel very passionate about helping others see their worth, feel listened to, and get support. There is too much negativity and judgment in the world and I hate to see people suffer because of it. I have struggled with my own criticalness, perfectionism, anger, people-pleasing, and fears, and use my therapeutic approaches to feel more peace, hope, and excitement about living. I have decades of experience working in business, corporate, and owning a business so I believe in giving clients practical skills and creating actionable steps. Regarding my personal life, I am an ex-Chicagoan who has lived in AZ for over 30 years who has been married for almost 20 years, and has 3 rescues pets. I love the sun, the outdoors, animals and travel. When not helping clients, I am learning about mental health and the brain; drinking coffee and walking my Scottsdale neighborhood, or traveling all over the world!
