About My Clients
I work with couples who feel stuck in recurring conflict, emotional distance, or a loss of sexual connection—often after years together. Some are rebuilding trust after infidelity; others want to feel like partners again rather than roommates. I also support individuals navigating intimacy concerns and relationship patterns. My clients include LGBTQIA+ individuals, intercultural couples, and people in diverse relationship structures.
My Background and Approach
I’m Utkala Maringanti, LMFT, CST, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Sex Therapist. My background in healthcare and lived experience across cultures inform my understanding of how relationships are shaped by identity, family expectations, and life transitions. My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. Drawing on Relational Life Therapy (RLT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), sex therapy, and EMDR, I help clients understand recurring patterns, take responsibility for their part, and practice meaningful changes. We explore both emotional and sexual connection, making room for honest conversations about needs, desire, trust, and hurt. I am certified in the RLT Couples Intensives model and working toward full RLT therapist certification. I offer ongoing therapy and focused couples intensives, tailoring our work to your goals, history, and relationship.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we all deserve relationships where we can feel respected, connected, and free to be ourselves. Closeness grows when we can speak honestly, listen with curiosity, and take responsibility for our impact on one another. I believe compassion and accountability belong together. Understanding why a pattern developed matters; so does choosing how we respond today. Therapy can make room for both the hurt you carry and your capacity to create change. You are the expert on your own experience. My role is to help you explore what matters to you, recognize patterns that keep you stuck, and make choices that align with your values. My work respects diverse cultures, identities, sexualities, and relationship structures. I do not assume there is one right way to love or build a meaningful life. Together, we define what connection, intimacy, and well-being mean for you.
