About My Clients
Are you having difficulties communicating your needs and emotions with others, especially your partner? Are you feeling concerned, hopeless, and burnt out in your relationship? Feeling as if you are stuck in this cycle that does not seem to ever end? All of these areas start to affect our everyday life and of course our relationships. I enjoy working with couples and individuals utilizing an Emotionally Focused lens.
My Background and Approach
My approach to counseling is to provide a supportive, humanistic environment where together we can explore your needs, and concerns, and assess current obstacles. I primarily utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy to fully understand your attachment history, longings, and needs. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy along with other modalities. It is essential to me to meet you where you are at in your therapeutic journey. To me, counseling is a journey of sharing personal problems, concerns, and stories. This work is deeply personal, and I am honored to have the privilege to be included in this journey and to be trusted with your stories. I truly believe every client is unique and provides unique "superpowers" to this world.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have always loved to read. I loved getting lost in the story and meeting the characters. That is when I realized that becoming a counselor was similar. I have the privilege of meeting people and hearing their stories through their lens. I love to travel for the same reason. To hear others' stories from their perspective of their country. Outside of counseling, I love to go to local yoga classes (I am a huge supporter of local businesses) and go for long runs and bike rides on the river trail. Keeping active is a great way to destress and recharge. When I am not physically training, I will most likely be outdoors. Nature is important to me and I am huge in recycling and finding sustainable ways of living. You could easily find me at my favorite school Michigan State University. I love to attend their sporting events (football and basketball) and cheer for my fellow Spartans. I am a huge sports fan!
