About My Clients

My clients are parents and families of young adults struggling with “failure to launch,” as well as individuals facing anxiety, depression, or difficulties with motivation and independence. Many come from historically underserved communities, navigating cultural and psychosocial stressors. I work with them through evidence-based, compassionate interventions that strengthen family support, promote resilience, and empower lasting growth.

My Background and Approach

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in New York and Connecticut, with advanced postdoctoral training at the Yale Child Study Center. Over the years, I have worked with individuals and families facing a broad range of psychiatric issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, and difficulties with motivation and functioning. My clinical history spans work in outpatient clinics, hospital-based programs, and community settings, giving me a wide lens on both the challenges and strengths people bring to treatment. My current practice focuses on parents of young adults struggling with “failure to launch.” I integrate evidence-based methods such as SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) and Non-Violent Resistance, approaches that empower caregivers to support their child while reducing cycles of conflict and accommodation. My style is compassionate, collaborative, and practical, always aimed at fostering resilience, independence, and lasting family change.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that each person’s path is unique and worthy of respect. My role as a psychologist is not to dictate what change should look like, but to listen deeply and honor the perspective clients bring into the room. I start from a place of trust in their capacity to grow, even when they feel uncertain or stuck. I see therapy as a partnership that balances evidence-based tools with genuine empathy, allowing clients to explore their challenges while feeling fully understood. I believe lasting change happens when people are empowered to define their own goals, discover their strengths, and move forward in ways that feel authentic to them. Above all, I hold a total belief in the client’s perspective and strive to create a safe, compassionate space where dignity, respect, and resilience guide the work we do together.
