About My Clients

There’s a harmful misconception that time heals all. Sometimes even when a lot of time has passed, significant pain is still present. I work for those who blame themselves, struggle with difficult memories, and have experienced trauma to show them there was nothing they did that warranted the pain given. I work with those wanting to find their voice, ease their anxiety, life stress, or depression. Time does not heal, but your intentionality and commitment can.

My Background and Approach

I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania. I received my doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oklahoma and completed a fellowship with the CARES Institute in child abuse and trauma. I have worked in the field of counseling for over 8 years, treating a range of problems including depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief & loss with children, adolescents, and adults. I am trained in providing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is an evidenced based treatment for children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. In addition, I am trained in providing Prolonged Exposure therapy for adults who have experienced trauma. I believe in developing a therapeutic relationship that centers understanding, openness, and warmth to facilitate change through changing thoughts, experiencing emotions, and changing behaviors. I am naturally a storyteller and believe in helping people to unfold their story to improve their lives while providing skills.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a child of Nigerian immigrants, I have desired to make counseling accessible, relatable, and welcoming for all people, especially within cultures and family systems in which it is taboo. I believe that while there are differences between methods of healing in different cultures, there is a constant theme that connection breeds change. One of the strongest beliefs I hold is that we were not meant to walk this earth alone. Which led me to co-found TalkNaija.org to destigmatize mental health in the Nigerian community and promote awareness. Two is greater than one for they have a good return on their work.
