About My Clients
Though I work with teens through older adults, a focus of mine has been working with young adults- young adults who are seeking a higher quality of life, to better understand their emotions, to process past traumas, to reduce and manage anxiety or depression, to identify or clarify short and long-term goals, and to build lifelong confidence and self-esteem. I have experience helping people with: anxiety, depression, adjustment/transitions, trauma, relationships, substance use issues, and more.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy involves a mixture of techniques ranging from; a person-centered approach, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused, and reality therapy. A main focus is meeting my clients where they are, building authentic rapport, trust, and a quality therapeutic relationship, with the goal to understand my client thoroughly along with their current struggles. I help clients to gain insight, become more mindful, more deliberate with their thoughts, emotions, and be able to effectively utilize learned coping skills outside of sessions. I also help clients to develop accountability, self-responsibility, and self-discipline to create lifelong positive changes in their moods, relationships, perspectives, and behavior.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that clients are experts on their own lives and need to be empowered to make their own choices in life and in therapy. I am here to listen and to help guide my clients in reaching their own goals.
