About My Clients
Have you been trying to deal with the aftermath of domestic violence or other traumas? Do you feel like no one is listening to you? You must be exhausted trying to heal your wounds on your own or getting unsolicited advice from people who don't have a clue. I get it. It can be not easy to find someone who understands and listens. Therapy and medications can help you get started on your journey of healing. I look forward to working with you as a team to get you into a better place.
My Background and Approach
I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with 35 years of experience in healthcare. I have years of experience working with many underserved populations and in various settings. I am very casual- no stuffed shirt here. I believe that the most important thing that I do is listen carefully and pick up on things that many others miss, or don't hear. I believe in building people up, not tearing them down.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a member of the LGBTQ community, I know how difficult it is to find a healthcare provider who can relate to certain challenges. I understand what it's like out there trying to be a part of a community and still be myself. I also know how important it is to be empathetic and nonjudgmental and provide a safe zone for open communication. We have to be comfortable with who we choose to tell our problems to in order to be able to give enough information to get the help we need.
