Anxiety is an everyday experience. Learning to manage anxiety is necessary in life since anxiety is expected (and can be helpful). But sometimes, the ways we have learned to cope with life's stresses or specific ways we've learned to connect with others may perpetuate additional stresses. I can help you to understand better the patterns you engage in that can increase the anxiety you feel in your life. Together, we can learn how to reduce your anxiety and create more empowered ways of living.
Depression is the symptom, but what is the cause? Often times it is a lack of clear meaning and purpose in one's life. Other times, it's living according to others' expectations and never your own goals. And on occasion, it's living in toxic situations where you are treated as less than human. Together, we'll get clear on your life values and aspirations, figure out how to reclaim your freedom, and find the personally fulfilling path for you.
You may have felt that it’s difficult to express or manage emotions, which may cause issues within relationships and other areas of your life. Society may have made you feel pressure to hide vulnerability and achieve a certain success level, contributing to stress and anxiety. Together, we can tackle these misconceptions and work towards improving the various aspects of your life that have been impacted.
Our bodies and minds connect in more rapid ways than direct thoughts, and until we develop our awareness of that connection, we are very likely to misunderstand what our body is trying to tell us, which can create more distress than is necessary. Somatic approaches can be transformative, including cultivating the felt sense, engaging the right brain & limbic system, and working with body-based approaches.
