I have utilized play therapy with majority of the children, adolescents, and teens that I engage with. For children, play is how they communicate. Children have difficulty sometimes expressing their emotions and feelings either due to where they are developmentally or they do not yet have the language to connect to a feeling. Therefore, through play therapy you can enhance the ability for children to explore and express themselves and their repressed thoughts and emotions.

Trauma-Focused Therapy is a specific approach to therapy that recognizes and emphasizes understanding how the traumatic experience impacts children or adults mental, behavioral, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Trauma- Focused Therapy can help with children and adults who are struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder, behavioral issues, and other symptoms that can stem from traumatic events.

Person-centered therapy is considered client-centered therapy where through the therapeutic process the client will become open to experience, learn to trust themselves, develop an internal evaluation of themselves and have a willingness to continue growing. The client will be able to obtain clarity, insight, and awareness about their challenges and develop effective techniques to manage them.

I have been working with children, adolescents, and teens for 5+ years and many times most of the struggles that my clients have dealth with are truancy , issues with friendships, issues with concentration and attention, oppositional behaviors, family conflict, life transitions, self-esteem, trauma, and much more. Adolescents and Teens normally have difficulty expressing themselves and may not be able to handle certain situations in a healthy and appropriate manner.

As a member and advocate of the LGBTQIA community I am truly passionate about working with other individuals who identify or are allied with the community. Many issues that individuals a part of the community can deal with is gender identify, social injustices, and discrimination. I want to be able to provide a safe space for my clients to express themselves and feel no judgement when exploring who they are.

In life all people deal with the transitions of life whether it is dealing with a move, a divorce, changing jobs, losing a loved one, or any situation where adjustment and change needs to take place. It can be difficult for everyone to deal with change and I like to provide skills to be able to help my clients adjust to change more effectively.
