About My Clients

My clients tend to be people who question their worth and experience feelings of shame, fear, and doubt. They often times feel stuck in life, repeating patterns of shutdown and dysregulation with their emotions and relationships. I have a passion for working with women, high-achievers, creatives and other helping professionals, and I am proud to be an LGBTQ+ ally. Often times my clients have participated in therapy and are seeking deeper understanding and healing.

My Background and Approach

After receiving my graduate degree, I worked as a counselor and administrator in a residential treatment center for adults for six years. During this time I earned my licensure as an LPC and began developing a professional interest in attachment, mindfulness, and holistic wellbeing. Yearning for more autonomy and professional development, I did what scared me and left community mental health and opened my private practice; this has been integral in regards to my ability to connect and provide counseling to individuals struggling with anxiety, stress, and trauma wounds. My interest in somatic therapy likely began early in my career and I've spent the last several years completing body-based trauma trainings until deciding to pursue Somatic Experiencing (SE) through SEI. Incorporating SE into therapy with my clients has been a game changer, both personally and in the healing of my clients.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I value transparency and think it's important to share with you that I'm not perfect and my role as a therapist isn't to "fix" you. I also believe that fit between therapist and client is necessary for personal development and growth in counseling. Personally, I'm an advocate and ally for minority groups, women's rights, and holistic therapies. I believe the path to healing requires some level of body awareness, which I love helping my clients navigate through Somatic Experiencing. Lastly, I'm on a personal mission to reject hustle culture and the ties that bind self-worth with production.
