About My Clients

If you prefer a down-to-earth, direct approach, and are comfortable with online therapy, I am the therapist for you! I am passionate about providing access to quality mental health care to all who seek it. I take a collaborative approach with all my clients and understand that flexibility is important. I have expertise in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, end-of-life issues, older adult issues, caregiver support, addiction, binge-eating disorder, and tobacco cessation.

My Background and Approach

I am a licensed psychologist with experience working with all age ranges, though my training and expertise are most aligned with the needs and values of middle-age to older adults. During our first session, we will spend a great deal of time coming to an understanding of troublesome core beliefs that contribute to the problem you are seeking help for - and the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are getting in the way. As therapy progresses (usually with a max of 6-16 sessions), we will work together to change habitual unhelpful thoughts and behaviors to achieve relief from difficult emotions. My aim is to teach you to be your own therapist by the end of our time together, so that you may continue to learn, grow, heal, and maintain the gains you made in therapy. I also specialize in brief behavioral assessment, education, consultation, and behavioral care planning related to behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) – this service is meant to ease caregiver burden.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I understand that seeking help and going into therapy can be one of the hardest things to do; I also believe it is one of the most courageous demonstrations of self-love there is! Therapy has been taboo for many people for many years. I am here to say - go for it! Even if I am not the right therapist for you. Virtually everyone, even those who do not have an identified "problem" can benefit from therapy. When you really break down the steps and process of therapy, it is very much all about getting to know yourself - and sometimes learning how to love yourself, too!
