Something feels off. You're functioning, the work gets done, but underneath, what you went through is still running the show. The anxiety. The patterns you can't break. The way your body reacts before you can stop it. You've done talk therapy. You know where the pain comes from. You still feel it. You're done understanding it. You want it to stop.
My Background and Approach
For a long stretch of my career I did what most of us are trained to do, and I watched people understand their own histories completely and still not feel any different. That question sent me toward the body. I trained in Brainspotting and went on to become a Certified Brainspotting Therapist, and I brought parts work, attachment, and somatic approaches inside that frame rather than alongside it. I work with childhood trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, and the trauma you can't quite remember but still feel. I also work with behaviors that will not shift no matter how well you understand them. And sometimes the trauma work is already behind someone. What they want then is what comes after it, which is its own kind of work and one I do too. My practice is solo and entirely virtual across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Florida.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe most people who come to me have already done the work. They have talked it through, they understand where it came from, and they are still living with it. That is not a failure of effort, and it is not a failure of the therapy they did. Some of what happened landed somewhere words cannot reach. So we work with the part of the brain that is still holding it, and let your body finish what it has been trying to finish for years. I also believe you were wounded, not damaged. The wound is what we reach for. Not you.
