About My Clients

I provide psychotherapy to adults of all ages with a wide range of concerns. These include the everyday struggles of love, work, & stress, as well as family & career concerns, but also the profound challenges of depression & anxiety, major life transitions, interpersonal conflict, trauma, & other emotional difficulties. I have extensive experience with individuals of diverse identities & marginalized backgrounds including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, queer, & immigrant communities.

My Background and Approach

Foremost we start by my working to establish a safe relationship with you, so that you feel comfortable and supported in expressing yourself to me. We will explore and collaborate on what feels most pressing to you. This process is ongoing - I will carefully listen to your concerns as they may evolve and change over time - and we will continually decide how best to address issues that emerge. Sometimes we may be exploring the past, and other times, we will be working in the here and now of current challenges, conflicts and emotional reactions. We may explore what emerges in our own relationship. In so doing, we may begin to look at previously adaptive ways-of-being which are now getting in the way of a richer and more enjoyable life. Our goal is to help you to move through your world with greater equanimity, creativity, agency, effectiveness and even joy - in both love and work. As your therapist, I encourage and am open to your feedback about how our relationship and work is going.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My approach is rooted in psychodynamic & psychoanalytic therapies. I believe in the profound capacity of relationships to heal, transform, and support meaningful growth. Through my own cultural identifiers and experiences, I am familiar with the impact of systemic oppression and social prejudice on mental health, particularly for those of us in BIPOC, immigrant, and/or queer communities.
