About My Clients
I am open to and have worked with a diversity of clients since joining the mental health field in 2016. I am a therapist that's style can best be described as eclectic. Each person is unique and we can often work on a multitude of things while in talk therapy. It is preferred that any client I work with come into the intake ready to get to work.
My Background and Approach
I am a person-centered eclectic therapist who enjoys building a rapport with my clients and working with them to construct a treatment plan that is useful in assisting them with their presenting problem. I believe therapy is most successful when the therapeutic alliance is established and the client feels they have a voice in their treatment. I also tend to lean towards concepts of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), a modality that focuses on establishing a positive identity, the practice of acceptance, and helping to foster psychological flexibility. I have a background working with nearly any diagnosis, including but not limited to the following disorders: Schizophrenia, Psychotic, Bipolar, Depression, Anxiety, Eating, Personality, Dissociative, Substance-Use, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I also obtained a certificate to administer the SYMBIS assessment to couples while completing my graduate degree and have a history of effectively assisting both pre-marital & married couples
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
One of the most important things that we can do for ourselves is to establish our personal values and try to align our behaviors to fit with these values. In both my personal and professional life, I try to do just that. I want to assist any client that I work with to understand the importance of doing this in their own life. I have been happily married since September 23, 2017. My wife and I have been blessed with three healthy children.
