About My Clients
Primarily within my career I have worked as a school-based therapist working with youth of all ages. These last 6 years specifically I have worked with teenagers and young adults, so I feel uniquely qualified to support these individuals during the life transitions that age brings. I have also worked as a Crisis Worker for the Crisis Line and SafeUT app at Huntsman Mental Health Institute, so I am also familiar with working with individuals during their most difficult moments.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy involves warmth and flexibility. No two clients are exactly alike, so it is very important to meet clients where they are. I also approach therapy with an emphasis on solution-focused and strength-based, since the client is the expert in their individual lives. My role is to provide support and understanding for my clients, and to help them make sense of the world based on their own understanding. My goal is when clients leave our sessions, they leave feeling supported, validated, and heard. I want my clients to leave feeling that their time with me was productive and enlightening, and they left feeling better than when they arrived for their session.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a Black Queer woman, I have a deep commitment to supporting marginalized communities, and I strive to provide affirming space where all of my clients (no matter who they are, who they love, etc.) feel safe, heard, and valued. As individuals, our experiences and how the world views us present in our every day lives, and I believe that my clients should express their authentic selves in our sessions, no matter what that looks like.
