About My Clients
Life can catch you by surprise. One day you’re a young adult with a great creative job and some kids. Then, in a blink of an eye, your kids are grown, and you’re in mid-life. You don’t know who you are anymore. You’ve lost your identity and feel stuck and anxious and that is a really hard place to be in. I want to help you to feel empowered to create a life that is true and expressive and rich and exactly the way you want it to be.
My Background and Approach
I work with both individuals and couples using a collaborative approach. I’ll work together with you to find we’ll find your strengths and build on them. We’ll work on changing behaviors that may have served you in the past but no longer are. I’m direct but kind, serious but like a laugh and welcome all emotions. I welcome all people and am gender affirming, body size positive and LGBTQ+ allied.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I worked as a creative professional for over 30 years, in both New York and Los Angeles, before earning my master’s degree in clinical psychology at age 60. My own therapy helped me make this life transition by examining my beliefs about myself and what I wanted in the next phase of my journey. It helped me see that I didn’t have to limit myself because of my age and that so much more was open to me. I love being a therapist and helping people discover what is authentic to them. I have a wealth of lived experience which includes cancer, infertility, and adoption, among other issues. I believe this experience is a great asset for a therapist to have and helps me bring needed empathy to what my clients are going through. When I’m not seeing clients, you will find me with my hands in clay making ceramics or at home with my husband, son, and two cats.
