Toyia has been working in the field of social work for over 20 years. Her tenure in the filed has allowed her to fill up her toolbox with a wide array of skills which she is ready to use and share wuth you to help you have a better relationship with yourself. Over the last 10+ years, he has also been working to cultivate and hone in on the skills of mindfulness through an assortment of trainings as well as developing her own personal practice. She has also completed Level 1 and 2 Gottman training as well as received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Toyia believes, like Nelson Mandela once noted, “we are all bound together in ways that are invisible to the eye” and “we achieve ourselves by sharing ourselves with others and caring for those around us” so there is a personal level of responsibility to help strengthen my community. Therefore, using these Ubuntu principles as her foundation, she is employing her skills to help individuals, families and groups gain a renewed sense of wholeness, resilience and strength by providing a platform to cultivate self-compassion, teach mindfulness and nurture other strategies that foster emotional wellness.
