In my couple's work, I utilize the Gottman Method. This Method is a research-based and evidence-backed approach developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, pioneers in the field of couples therapy. This method is designed to help couples understand and navigate the intricacies of their relationship, providing practical tools and strategies for building and maintaining a strong connection.

As a certified perinatal counselor, I collaborate with mothers and couples navigating the journey of conception, pregnancy, or the postpartum phase of life. Welcoming a new human being into your world brings forth a myriad of challenges, from the anticipation stages to the moment you first cradle your newborn in your arms. Planning and nurturing a new life can be overwhelming, and I offer assistance in navigating these significant transitions.

Trauma can leave deep scars on the mind, body, and spirit. My comprehensive trauma-informed services are designed to support individuals in their healing journey, providing a safe and nurturing environment for exploration and recovery. Trauma-focused therapy sessions are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, utilizing evidence-based approaches such as CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy) and Prolonged Exposure therapy.

In my work with couples, I use the Gottman Method to help partners build stronger, more fulfilling relationships. I focus on enhancing communication, deepening emotional connection, and managing conflict in a healthy way. Through practical exercises, I guide couples to improve their understanding of each other’s needs, fostering trust and intimacy. The Gottman Method provides tools to navigate challenges while reinforcing the positive aspects of their relationship for long-term success.

In my practice, I use Prolonged Exposure Therapy to help clients process and overcome trauma. This approach involves gradually confronting distressing memories and situations in a safe, supportive environment, allowing clients to reduce their fear and anxiety over time. I guide them through tailored exercises, helping them reclaim control of their lives by reducing avoidance and emotional numbing. Together, we work to lessen the trauma's hold, fostering resilience and healing.

I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy to help clients heal from trauma and distressing experiences. By guiding clients through specific eye movements while they recall traumatic events, EMDR helps reprocess these memories, reducing their emotional charge. This approach allows clients to move past the painful effects of trauma and develop healthier coping mechanisms, empowering them to regain control over their emotions and improve their overall well-being.
