I aim to guide clients in discovering their patterns and getting off "autopilot" to begin living a life they choose.
Licensed Professional Counselor in Denver, CO
Given approximately 10-20% of birthing parents and many non-birthing parents are affected by Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), it's of the utmost importance to support parents during such a major transition in their lives. I've trained with Postpartum Support International, completed a year internship in a perinatal mental health clinic, and attend ongoing trainings in order to best guide parents in preventing and treating PMADs. I enjoy working with nontraditional families.
As a polyamorous person myself, my clients regularly express a tremendous sense of relief not having to educate me on the lingo or having to fear that I'll think their relationship structure is the cause of their issues. I also assist clients in deciding if ethical non-monogamy is for them and supporting them in beginning their explorations of opening up.
Growing up, my father's Navy career caused our family to move every 0.5-2.5 years. Since transition was my constant, I developed unique insight into the complex intersection and paradox of emotions that come up during times of major change. I particularly enjoy working with college students; people going through a major career or relationship shift; people exploring new pieces of their identity once ignored; and families welcoming new members through birth, adoption, or blending two families.
