LPCC
Accepting Clients

I know what it's like to feel anxious, uncertain and stuck in life while masking competence to the outside world. Life does get better.

About My Clients

The clients I tend to work with are adult individuals and teens 16+ who I see either in my office in Boulder or virtually for all of Colorado. They tend to be haunted by an insecure childhood whose survival patterns show up now, and/or they have unprocessed trauma that keeps them stuck, and/or they do not know why they feel anxiety or depression and would like to figure that out. We work side by side discovering clarity, bringing release, and opening new path ways for a richer life.

My Background and Approach

For many years I sat in the client's seat working with wonderful therapists to unpack why I felt insecure, anxious and alone for most of my life. On the outside I worked in the film and television industry, but inspired by the help I gained, moving to Colorado, and entering a stage in my life where I want to be of service to others, I changed careers to become a therapist. I interned at the Boulder County Jail where I worked with incarcerated people struggling in their lives and their transition into jail. After graduating and gaining my LPCC, I started a private practice and became certified in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy and trained in EMDR. Along with this, I am trained in gestalt therapy, transpersonal therapy, and mindfulness-based practices. My approach is client-centered and trauma-informed. I practice active-consent and the client always has the final say in any experiential practices. All are welcomed no matter their background or where they are in life.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

While I am not trained in nature-based therapy yet, I believe how we relate to nature reflects how we relate to ourselves. Often our suffering comes from an over-objectifying world where deep down we all want to be met, accepted, and loved in a real relationship. I currently volunteer with the Climate Psychology Alliance of North America (CPA-NA) where we help train and support mental health professionals on the psychological impact of climate change as well as the overall polycrisis. I strongly believe that mental health is not simply issues of psychology, but includes the impact of social, cultural, economic and spiritual/religious systems. We are a part of systems. I was raised Christian in an inter-religious household and the last 20 years been practicing Buddhism. I value all wisdom traditions and beliefs and they are welcomed in therapy sessions.
