About My Clients
Some clients come to me simply because they have a sense there's more to life. And they know therapy can help them clarify and realize their aspirations. Others seek my support because they're feeling stuck, perhaps generally, or in a particular area such as their career or relationships. Sometimes people come to me feeling overwhelmed by depression, anger, or anxiety. Or because they'd like to heal from past trauma. And sometimes they aren't initially sure why, but we figure it out together.
My Background and Approach
In our work together, we’ll form a collaborative team while we clarify your goals, and you’ll learn research-backed skills and concepts, and identify ways to put therapy into practice. Part of my role will be to keep us both accountable, so that session by session we’re staying on track and working towards positive, real-world change. Mindfulness will likely be a part of our work. There are countless ways we get puppeted about by our patterns of avoidance and clinging, by our mental and emotional habits, and by our personal histories, including any major stressors and trauma. Mindfulness can give us the super power to be more in the present and to respond rather than react. It can help each of us become more like the person we aspire to be.
