About My Clients

Utilizing a holistic and an integrative approach to counseling I strive to hold a therapeutic space for you that is warm, accepting, and affirming as you face the concerns and challenges of your life. I believe we are relational beings that have a right to physical and emotional wellness. My belief is that our work will allow you to gain the insight and inner resources to help realign your life with your worldview and personal beliefs.

My Background and Approach

I have worked in both the private sector as well as served in the public sector as an employment counselor, immigration and resettlement advocate, and child welfare, and adoption services. My background also includes work with healthcare advocacy for those seeking gender confirmation surgery and private health insurance. I work from a strengths based, attachment theory, narrative approach to counseling. I believe counseling is a collaborative effort. I have attended NW Play Therapy conferences for the last three years. I have completed a 4 day externship on EFT Therapy and additional trainings for Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals with Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma. In 2019 I completed Level One Gottman Method training to compliment my work with couples. My approach is honest, nonjudgmental, and affirming. Life happens to all of us. It is what we do with it that ends up mattering.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Honesty and transparency also are cornerstones to being able to authentic and vulnerable in your relationships. You cannot be authentic and vulnerable in your relationships if you cannot be honest with yourself and transparent with others. Being honest and transparent allows for trust to be fostered and relationships to flourish. Living a life that affirms your beliefs allows you to live your healthiest and functional life psychologically. Life is hard for human beings. There is suffering and brokenness at every turn it seems like and yet time and time again, the human spirit prevails and gets back up again. I love the ancient art of “Kintsugi”, which uses gold or silver to repair cracks and breaks in pottery. The cracks and breaks are filled mending the breaks and cracks, which then become a part of the pottery. Adding to the richness and beauty of the piece.

I have experience with the following
  • Buddhism
  • Christianity
  • Multifaith
