About My Clients

You were told growing up that men don't ask for help. Real men just figure it out on their own. You may feel like you're always walking on eggs at home to avoid an argument. It's natural to feel angry and it's easy to become defense with your spouse is angry with you. We all make mistakes. After some time in the group you won't take it so personally anymore. You'll see more options than you do now about how you can react. We can help you learn how to repair mistakes.

My Background and Approach

I work primarily from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy framework. Listening to your experience helps me understand where you are and why you're in distress. My experience and training guides me to offer you new ways to see your distress that can remove the self-shame from what you tell yourself. The group experience lets you be with other men who share similar experiences so that the comfort, hope and confidence you can find in the group stay with you longer between sessions.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that many men are given very little guidance, modeling or instruction about how to talk about feelings. We often don't even know what we're feeling beneath the very intense feelings of anger and excitement. As a result, we find it difficult to understand or even hear those kinds of feelings from others. The men who join my groups and maintain weekly attendance always feel more confident and experience less conflict in ALL their relationships.

I have experience with the following
