About My Clients
I enjoy working with teens and the families that support them.
My Background and Approach
My specialty is Attachment Based Family Therapy (ABFT). This evidenced based therapy has been shown to improve depressive symptoms and reduce suicide in teens by strengthening communication, love, and trust between family members. I graduated with my master's degree in school counseling in 2007 and completed supervision for my professional license in 2012. My work as a school counselor has taught me how schools think and operate. My work as a professional counselor helped me appreciate every individual I worked and their family's context. Each job complemented each other.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal life experiences, education, and trainings over the last 15 years has time and again reinforced the idea that positive changes can best be facilitated with a compassionate professional who will listen, attend, and encourage. I know what it is like to receive bad therapy. I strive to continuously create an environment where people can explore their lives and find profound meaning and support from those around them.
