About My Clients
My ideal client is someone who feels called to explore their inner world, who longs to feel connected with themselves and others, who wants to uncover the heart of their issues and learn why they get stuck in the same patterns. I have extensive experience working with people struggling with addictions and substance abuse, as well as anxiety, relationship challenges, and who want to explore or deepen their spirituality.
My Background and Approach
My counseling approach is influenced by gestalt, psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based therapy, as well as inner child work and the expressive arts. I have a deep spiritual foundation, which is important to me and guides my work as a therapist. It allows me to be creative, inspired, and intuitive when working with clients. During therapy, each session is its own journey, and together we'll explore what's needing attention and how to best honor it. I enjoy using a variety of techniques and interventions based on what may seem most helpful in the moment. I might lead you in a guided meditation to connect to your inner child, have you relate to different parts of yourself through art or psychodrama, or help you navigate a challenging relationship and discover what steps you can take to repair or improve it. Our time together will be dynamic, thought-provoking, cathartic, connecting, rejuvenating, and healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we all need support in working through life's challenges, navigating relationships, healing past trauma, and cultivating a capacity to be present to our emotions. We all need support in growing our self-confidence and learning to trust ourselves and our ability to make healthy choices. We all need support in pursuing our passions and listening to those inner nudges, in becoming more fully embodied and a more truthful expression of who we really are. I believe in your ability to heal and grow into the person you desire to be. The journey of self-discovery is challenging; there is a reason why many people don’t take it. But if you’re ready to begin, or deepen, reach out and we’ll explore how I can help you.
