About My Clients
I enjoy working with children, teens, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, big emotions, grief, neurodivergence, identity development, and school-related challenges. Supporting creative autistic, ADHD, LGBTQIA+, gifted, and twice-exceptional youth is at the heart of my practice. My liberation oriented and trauma informed approach honors familial context while respecting each person’s uniqueness through a neuro-affirming lens.
My Background and Approach
With over five years of experience as a school counselor, five years supporting students and families in special education, and three years as a therapist, I bring a deep understanding of child development, neurodiversity, family systems, and the many ways we all learn, grow, and navigate challenges. My approach is strengths-based, relational, and affirming, integrating play therapy, expressive arts, mindfulness, psychoeducation, and CBT-informed strategies to support self-understanding, and emotional growth. I am a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Coach and am pursuing Registered Play Therapist (RPT) certification, with advanced training in expressive arts therapies. My specialized training includes LGBTQIA+ youth mental health and gender-affirming care, CBT and TF-CBT (I use when applicable), anxiety, grief and loss, autism, ADHD, disability-affirming practice, twice-exceptional and gifted youth, and family support. I strive to create a safe, supportive space for all!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a queer therapist, I have worked to create affirming environments for LGBTQIA+ youth in schools, community programs, and therapeutic spaces. My commitment to liberation-oriented, anti-oppressive, and anti-racist practice is ongoing. As a cisgender, white, queer woman, I believe self-reflection, humility, accountability, and continued learning are essential parts of providing ethical and affirming care. As a child, I navigated disability, identity exploration, family challenges, and big emotions, and was deeply supported by my own child therapist. That experience continues to shape how I show up today, leading with warmth and curiosity. I have worked as an LGBTQIA+ Youth Care Specialist and supported food justice efforts, created spaces in educational environments through affirming and affinity spaces for BIPOC youth and families, as well as been involved in collective programs that advocate for agency and liberation.
