It causes you to put your own life/wants/desires on hold to save others and often causes a lot of frustration and resentment to boil over. I'll help you gain the courage to start living for yourself so that you can drop the anger and live in harmony with others again.
We all experience anxiety because it is a useful function our body has developed to try to keep us safe. We get so many outside influences telling us our body is wrong or doesn't measure up and it's really difficult to shut these voices out and remember our bodies are magical organisms capable of really incredible things. I utilize Intuitive Eating and Health At Every Size principles to help people find freedom from diet culture and make peace with food and their bodies.
I want to help you explore where your thoughts and behaviors come from so that we can work towards healing the ones that come from a wounded place. We learn many dysfunctional patterns (of thinking and behaving) to protect ourselves throughout our lives, but sometimes these protective measures cause us more harm than good. I want to help you sort through the protective measures to see which ones you want to hold on to and which ones you need to throw out.
Mindfulness helps us live in the present and be active participants in our lives. I help people increase their awareness around their thoughts and behaviors so they can take responsibility for these things and live with intention and purpose.
We live in a patriarchal society and there are many real ways women feel oppressed in this society. I work to help women who are struggling with feeling oppressed (by diet culture, monogamy, or the various other ways we experience oppression) find more freedom in their lives.
