About My Clients
I approach therapy from a feminist/decolonial perspective and am passionate about supporting people in their exploration of identity and purpose. I also treat substance use/abuse from a trauma perspective and work with parents, or intended parents, to create healthy parenting practices. I have worked with many clients who have experienced sexual trauma, abuse or neglect as children, or who struggle with relationship stability in adulthood.
My Background and Approach
For those of us who have experienced trauma, it can be scary to begin the therapeutic work of healing. I am a trauma therapist who meets clients where they are and doesn't push an agenda or a timeline for healing. You are in the driver's seat, and I am here to support your process. I can offer various tools to support your healing journey, from emotional regulation and grounding to communication and relationship skills. As a clinician I am informed by psychodynamic/depth frameworks for self-discovery and I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) and TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) as modalities. I am trauma-informed to my core. When working with me, you can be assured that we will go at the pace that suits your needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a nonbinary, queer, neurodivergent and polyamorous parent and therapist. I am active in the movement to end gender based violence, in union organizing efforts, and in anti-racist organizing and education for white peers. I have long volunteered in survivor advocacy roles, working with survivors of intimate partner violence or sexual violence. Cultural humility, anti-oppression, and intersectionality is foundational to how I approach therapy and work with clients.
