About My Clients
I work best with clients who are willing to put forth their best efforts in their healing journey and are interested in gaining a deeper understanding of themselves, their patterns, and their world. I have specific experiences with self-esteem, personal growth, anxiety, life transitions, depression, and trauma.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a minor in Rehabilitation Studies. I went on to earn my Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. I have had the privilege of gaining experiences from a variety of settings, such as private therapeutic practices, domestic violence agencies, state government agencies and education. I view my approach to therapy as eclectic, meaning that I will pull from different theoretical approaches to best support a client's needs. I am primarily person-centered in practice, allowing clients to use their own understanding of their experiences as a platform for healing, while I provide empathetic, nonjudgmental and genuine support.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in showing compassion to others, even when they may feel unlovable. I believe in giving others grace, even when they feel undeserving. I do these things because it is my belief that we all deserve it at some point in our lives, and we will never know the impact that we may have when simply being kind and understanding of others. At times, the world can seem to be an unloving place, as everyone moves about their lives seemingly never even offering a glance toward you. I work to ensure that, if it doesn't happen anywhere else, you feel seen and cared for during the time that we are meeting and, hopefully, afterward as well.
