About My Clients
You look like you have it together, but underneath you're anxious, exhausted, or overwhelmed. You're used to being the dependable one, and pushing through isn't working anymore. I help adults navigate anxiety, trauma, relationship struggles, self-doubt, substance use, and major life changes. Veterans, first responders, and professionals are especially welcome, bu you don't need a uniform or a dramatic story to belong here. We'll build on your strengths and work toward changes that matter to you.
My Background and Approach
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and military veteran with over 20 years of experience across social services and clinical settings, including the Department of Veterans Affairs. My style is collaborative, compassionate, and direct. I bring humor and a little sarcasm to sessions while taking your experiences seriously. Expect honest conversations, practical tools, and space to be yourself. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), alongside relational and strengths-based approaches. Together, we’ll explore patterns, process difficult experiences, build coping skills, and make choices guided by your values. You aren’t broken. Our work is about helping you create a life that feels more like yours. I provide telehealth throughout Alabama, Texas, and Hawaii, with Eastern Shore in-person services anticipated in early 2027. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I don’t believe you need to be “fixed.” You’re a complicated person living a complicated life. Some strategies that once helped you survive may now be getting in your way. That doesn’t make you broken; it gives us somewhere to start. I believe therapy works best when you can show up honestly, without polishing your story or pretending everything is fine. There’s room for difficult feelings, uncertainty, laughter, and the occasional well-placed swear word. You are the expert on your life. I bring clinical experience, curiosity, and a willingness to help you examine patterns, recognize your strengths, and try something different. We’ll work at a pace that respects you while making room for meaningful change. I value authenticity, humor, and the freedom to define a meaningful life on your own terms. You don’t have to wait until everything falls apart to ask for support. Being capable and needing help can coexist.
