About My Clients

work with adults experiencing the effects of trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Many of my clients are managing work, family, and daily responsibilities while struggling with symptoms that complicate everyday life — trouble sleeping, constant worry, low mood, or painful memories that won’t go away. Some have been in therapy before and seek a more structured approach. Others are starting therapy for the first time. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

My Background and Approach

'm a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience, including eight years in independent practice. I'm trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and I draw on both approaches based on what a client needs. CBT focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It's structured and practical, providing tools you can use between sessions to manage anxiety, low mood, and recurring patterns. EMDR is used to process traumatic memories that still influence how you feel and react today. It addresses material that talking alone often can't, and doesn't require you to describe what happened in detail. Your first session is a comprehensive clinical evaluation. We'll review your history, current symptoms, and what you want to change, and I'll share my impressions along with a recommended approach. From there, we will collaborate to develop a treatment plan.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe people come to therapy already carrying a lot, and that the work should lighten that burden rather than add to it. You set the pace, and nothing is asked of you before you're ready. I don't think symptoms mean something is wrong with you. Anxiety, depression, and trauma responses usually make sense once you understand their origins. They were adaptations that once protected you and are now costing more than they benefit. I believe therapy should be practical. You should leave sessions with actionable strategies, and over time, you should be able to see whether things are improving. I also believe therapy should have an end. My goal isn't to keep you in treatment forever but to help you reach a point where you no longer need it. Above all, this is your space. Whatever you bring here will be received without judgment.
