About My Clients
My clients range from ages 16 - 48 and are all about change. As we encounter change our natural reaction can be to push back and become shut off to our environment. I would love to walk with you through the hardships of life and empower you to make the best choice. Starting from the beginning of your story can help in figuring out where you are currently.
My Background and Approach
In my 12 years of working experience, I have worked with diverse populations within the Salvation Army, Department of Corrections, the State University System, and In City Government. Throughout my time in these different environments, I have noticed that we are all going through life looking for someone to honestly hear us. I operate in a way that makes it easy for a client to feel like they are heard. In the beginning of our therapy journey, I will ask questions rather than give directions. I want to understand what brought you in and uncover what is blocking you from moving forward. Whether we meet for a brief 6 sessions or more, my goal is lead you to relief.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value personal growth, leadership, and helping others in the areas of mental health, communication, and personal development. Serving my community is important to me, whether through my work, research, or volunteering. I prioritize family, ethical responsibility, and education, which is why I’m committed to my PhD and my goal of becoming faculty. My research on Black men’s communication in marriage reflects my belief in strong relationships, vulnerability, and breaking societal barriers. My faith is what fuels me as a person. I believe that without my faith I would not be the man that I am.
