About My Clients
I've worked with clients holding it together — for work, family, everyone who counts on them — while running on empty. For some, it built up slowly; for others, it came out of nowhere. Maybe it's anxiety that won't quiet down, a low mood that's overstayed its welcome, or a relationship or family pattern that keeps repeating. I help people stop coping and understand what's underneath it — trauma included, only when they're ready. If that sounds like you, this practice was built for you.
My Background and Approach
I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Midwestern State University and a Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of West Georgia — training that grounds every session in real clinical skill, not guesswork. Before private practice, I worked in psychiatric crisis stabilization and partial hospitalization settings, primarily supporting people through trauma and major life transitions. That background means I stay steady even when a session goes somewhere heavy — you won't have to manage my reaction to protect me from your reality. My specialties are anxiety, depression, mood disorders, identity, relationship or family strain, attachment patterns, and trauma, and I draw on CBT and DBT to build tools you can actually use between sessions, not just talk about in the room. All of it adds up to one thing: a therapist who can hold complexity without flinching, so you don't have to simplify yourself to be understood.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a Christian, and my faith is whole — I don't pick and choose which parts to believe, though what matters most to me isn't religion; it's the personal relationship at the center of it. That's not something I bring into session unless it's part of your story too — for clients who'd rather keep our work entirely secular, that's just as welcome. Beyond faith, I'm guided by two things above all: self-empowerment and intentionality. I believe no one will care for you better than you will, and that every choice we make — even the small ones — shapes the direction our life takes. I'm proudly Georgia born and raised, and I'm passionate about serving the BIPOC community alongside every client who comes through my (virtual) door. I also believe deeply in self-expression in all its forms — it's part of why I do this work in the first place, and part of why I show up as fully myself with my clients, tattoos, laid-back style, and all.
