About My Clients
I have collaborated with various clients across numerous demographics, cultural backgrounds, and presenting concerns; from LGBTQIA+ children with anxiety to adult survivors of domestic violence managing grief, I'm dedicated to providing support and resources in addition to working with clients find a moment to breathe.
My Background and Approach
I'm a 2SLGBTQIA+/queer, Cambodian-Chinese (Teochew) individual who strives to assist people in defining and understanding their stories on their journey in healing. I'm determined to aid others with finding the tools needed to build a better tomorrow, whatever that looks like for clients. As a registered Associate Clinical Social Worker, my approach to therapy is eclectic, trauma-informed, and person-focused, drawing from a variety of evidence-based modalities that fit best based on people’s needs. I utilize modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), somatic practices and mindfulness. I aim to support clients in exploring their situations. I'm working under a licensed clinical supervisor. I integrate culturally competent and evidence-based practices to ensure that clients are understood and have a voice in their treatment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have worked in numerous settings including hospitals, non-profit organizations, and schools; a major focus in my work has involved helping clients develop healthy coping mechanisms and aiding them through medical and psychological crises. Within the past decade, I also contributed to and participated in promoting awareness and advocacy of mental health issues in culturally diverse and intersectional communities. I believe in walking alongside clients with compassion and curiosity, helping them reconnect with themselves and reclaim their stories. They want to bring warmth, authenticity, and hope in people’s journeys as well as creating a space where all are welcome without judgment.
