My Background and Approach
Hello! I was a Police Officer in Florida for over 22 years and have decided to use my LCSW experience to help my fellow first responders better their mental health! I understand the struggles firsthand and relate greatly with LEOs, COs, EMS, Nurses, Paramedics, Firefighters, etc. I use a client-centered, solution-focused approach. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) are also methods of treatment that I use. Client-Centered is a humanistic approach, where you will be in control and I will be more of your guide during our journey. Solution-Focused Therapy we will focus more on the solutions versus the problems. CBT focuses on changing the way you think, to avoid negative emotions, pushing toward changed behavior. DBT is similar to CBT, however, it's more about working on letting go of and accepting what we can't control. PS, I cuss a lot ;)
