About My Clients
I have experience working with children, teens, and adults. The focus areas usually consists of mood disturbances, trauma related issues, behavioral challenges, self-esteem related issues, and some substance use related issues.
My Background and Approach
My Master's degree is in counseling with concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have experience working with families to help improve family dynamics and functioning. I also use my background when working with individuals to help them to gain insight into family patterns influencing behavior and predisposition to illnesses. I work with my clients to help them to create their path despite family patterns while being aware of and using cultural sensitivity. My speciality is in mood disturbances, behavioral challenges, trauma related issues, self-esteem related issues, and substance use related issues.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am very passionate about what I do. I love helping others to learn about themselves and find ways to cope with mental distress. I understand what's it's like to experience emotional/mental distress as I believe we've all at one point in time have experienced some kind of emotional/mental disturbance. I often tell my clients that I also have to use certain skills to relieve emotional distress because I am human, we're all human, and doing the best we can to survive and thrive in life.
