About My Clients
Maybe you're currently pregnant and surprised by how disconnected you feel? Maybe you've recently had a baby and having thoughts that scare you? Maybe you've experienced a pregnancy loss and you're feeling alone and blaming yourself? Maybe you're a parent and feeling beyond touched out and out of control. My clients are usually experiencing sadness, worries, anxiety, depression, anger, rage, exhaustion, fears, racing thoughts. I hear you and I see you.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a certification in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International, as well as a Certified Lactation Educator Counselor. With this combination, I understand the physiological affects of pregnancy, postpartum, and lactation as I seek to holistically guide you to wellness. I am not a "sit and nod" therapist. I mean, I can do that if that feels right for you and you want a space to just be. I prefer to be actively engaged with you. I utilize a variety of techniques and exercises that are tailored for your needs. These might be EMDR, CBT, mindfulness, or other body-based exercises. As a therapist, I don't seek to empower you but to help you recognize you are powerful and resilient.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
You're a great parent and individual. I recognize that you're an expert on your own life and experiences. I am anti-racist, body-positive, sex-positive, kink affirming, LGBTQ+ affirming. While I may not be an expert on parts of your identity and I recognize my experiences are different than yours- I welcome all parts of you and celebrate you.
