I am a holistic mental health therapist because of the way I approach psychotherapy. I believe that mental health is impacted by our physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and intellectual bodies. As a licensed clinical social worker, integrative nutrition wellness coach, and yoga teacher, you can rest assured that I will consider every area in your life with you as we work to help you get to the place you want to be.
I am a Black woman, raised in the South, and attended primary school, being exposed to Japanese, German, French, Spanish, and Chinese culture. In my career, I have had the privilege of providing direct services to refugees, international survivors of violence, and domestic clients from backgrounds both similar to and starkly different from my own. Your choice to work with me as your therapist will ensure that your cultural background is respected, appreciated, and prioritized in your journey.
I have completed the Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy curriculum by the Medical University of South Carolina, and I have engaged in trauma-focused work since 2013. I am aware of how to engage people across the trauma spectrum-- especially those that have been both survivors or perpetrators of sexual harm.
