About My Clients
You may be facing something concrete and pressing — anxiety, a relationship in crisis, a loss, a choice you can't resolve. Or you may sense that something isn't right without being able to say what. My Background and Approach
I am a psychoanalyst with a Lacanian orientation. I am an Editor-in-Chief for the European Journal of Psychoanalysis, Clinical Director at The Clinic Without Walls and adjunct faculty at CIIS. I hold a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Saybrook University, an M.M. from The New England Conservatory of Music, and a B.A. in philosophy from WCSU.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe symptoms — anxiety, a pattern that won't release, a persistent unease — are not simply malfunctions to be switched off: they carry meaning, and deserve to be understood rather than silenced. I believe we are, to a large degree, unknown to ourselves: much of what shapes our choices and our suffering lives outside awareness, and coming to know it is both possible and quietly transformative. I believe each person is singular — that there is no formula, and the work has to be tailored to the particular truth a person is living, in the space of being genuinely heard, without judgment. And I believe people are capable of authentic transformation — not as wishful thinking, but as something I have seen happen.
