My Background and Approach
I specialize in helping individuals, particularly Black, Brown, and queer communities, navigate anxiety, anger, and identity struggles. With a master’s degree in clinical psychology and currently pursuing my PsyD, I’ve gained extensive training in evidence-based therapeutic techniques. I combine this education with real-world experience, working closely with clients to develop personalized strategies for managing emotions. In our work together, I’ll provide you with practical tools you can use anytime to regain control, especially during moments of anxiety or anger. My goal is for you to leave each session with at least five techniques—discreet exercises that can provide immediate relief and long-term resilience. I take a direct, solution-focused approach, addressing what’s happening in your mind and body in the moment and helping you manage anxiety or anger in real-time. We’ll work on calming your body, redirecting your thoughts, and building skills to prevent these challenges from
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe deeply in the power of self-empowerment and the importance of creating safe, affirming spaces for individuals from marginalized communities. As a queer person of color, I understand firsthand the complexities of navigating identity, societal pressures, and mental health challenges. I am committed to advocating for mental health and wellness in Black, Brown, and LGBTQIA+ communities, recognizing the unique struggles these populations often face, such as systemic discrimination, microaggressions, and the impact of intersectionality. Beyond my clinical work, I actively support causes that promote inclusivity, social justice, and mental health awareness. I stand firmly with movements like Black Lives Matter, advocating for racial equity, and I am a passionate ally to the LGBTQIA+ community. I believe in the importance of fighting for equal rights and access to mental health resources for all, and I strive to incorporate these values into both my professional and personal life.
