My Background and Approach
Thomas Blake is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT125666) in Pasadena, California, specializing in LGBTQ+ Affirmative Care Therapy. Thomas has worked for The Trevor Project and The LGBTQ Center, where he developed the curriculum and successfully launched a Trans Ally Support Group, that continues to grow today. Thomas believes providing a safe and affirming environment is critical to providing clients with the space necessary for them to begin to process past trauma and address the challenges preventing them from building the life and affirming relationships they seek. In addition to providing LGBTQ+ affirmative care, Thomas integrates EMDR, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed somatic based therapies into his work. Having provided services for a national suicide prevention organization, Thomas is comfortable working with a variety of challenges, including clients struggling with complex trauma, self-harm, and suicidal ideation.
