About My Clients
My clients are adults whose suffering does not show. People who function well and feel almost nothing. Who reach the goal and think, quietly, is this it. Whose anxiety hums under an objectively fine life, whose tiredness no holiday repairs, who are present in every meeting and absent from their own week. Competent people, often the ones others rely on, carrying something they have never had the words for. If nobody around you would guess you were reading this, you are exactly who I work with.
My Background and Approach
Maybe your life works. Job, routines, responsibilities, people who care about you. And still something is off in a way that is hard to name: a background anxiety, a tiredness that rest does not fix, an inner voice that speaks to you more harshly than you would ever allow anyone else to. When you try to talk about this, you get labels and quick advice. Anxiety, burnout, you should exercise more. None of it is exactly wrong. It just does not touch what you actually feel. Being explained is not the same as being understood. My work begins at that difference. I am a Brazilian clinical psychologist, and my approach is phenomenological and existential. In practice this means one thing above all: I do not start from theories about you, I start from you. Before any diagnosis or technique there is your experience. How anxiety actually feels in your body on a Tuesday morning. What "I'm just tired" is really carrying. What happens in the silence you avoid.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe suffering has a logic. People do not break at random. What we call a symptom is usually an old solution to an old problem, still running long after the situation changed. I believe most people are not asking to be fixed. They are asking to be understood with precision, and that when that finally happens, something moves on its own. I do not believe a life is a set of problems to be optimized. Some of what hurts is not a malfunction. It is the cost of how you are living, and it becomes bearable only when it is looked at honestly rather than managed. I believe freedom is uncomfortable. Most of us prefer a familiar cage to an open question, and part of my work is staying with you while the question stays open. And I believe you are the authority on your own experience. I know theory. You know what it is like to be you. The work happens where those two meet.
