About My Clients
My clients are those having challenges with mental health and or substance abuse. I work with those whose every day lives and functioning have been impacted by issues around unaddressed trauma and compound trauma.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Therapist (LCSW) and a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) with approximately 25 years in the field. I use an eclectic approach that centers around humanistic psychology, the belief that anyone can change if provided with a safe trusting environment that is conducive for growth. I also work from a Cognitive Behavioral Perspective which focus on the restructuring of negative thought patterns that impact one's ability to emote, cope with and overcome their challenges and feelings of being overwhelmed.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a Christian Licensed Clinical Therapist, my faith deeply informs my humanistic approach to therapy. I believe every individual possesses inherent worth and potential for growth, a belief rooted in my understanding of God's love and grace. My experiences working with diverse populations, including court-involved youth, those impacted by trauma, addiction, and the justice system, have solidified my conviction that healing and transformation are possible. I strive to create a non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their struggles and discover their strengths. My faith reminds me that "but by God's grace, there go I," fostering empathy and compassion in my work. I am passionate about empowering individuals to become their best selves, supporting them on their journey toward healing and wholeness.
