Internal Family Systems focuses on the idea that everyone is comprised of a variety of “parts,” & that in order to heal ourselves and our lives, we must identify and tend to the root of the issues we’re facing. By honoring your uniqueness and the infinite understanding of yourself — that only you possess — you can experience healing and transformation on a deep level. The goal of the IFS model is to help you understand your own inner world and access your innate ability to transform and heal.

The reason why EMDR is so effective is that it gets to the root of the issue and allows your mind and body to “unfreeze” the traumatic memory and process it fully. This helps to desensitize your triggers and dissipate the symptoms that follow. By using bilateral stimulation, the mind is able to get to a calm enough state where it can fully process the traumatic experience and rewire the neuropathways that are sending you those signals of distress in the present day.
