About My Clients
As a nonbinary, queer, and autistic counselor I connect with clients through their experiences within the LGBTQIA+ community or as a part of the autistic community. I also work with clients who have disordered experiences with food from a health at every size perspective! I love working with clients who are ready to explore their honest selves and find growth and answers unique to them.
My Background and Approach
With a background in theatre, I have a passion for bringing creativity into the counseling office and believe that counseling can be healing and fun! My approach is grounded in existential therapy and narrative therapy, with sprinklings of humanistic counseling and internal family systems. I know each of my clients is unique and I work to tailor my approach to their individual needs!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I became a counselor to provide better counseling services to the LGBTQIA+ community, most specifically to nonbinary individuals, after my own negative experiences with counselors. As I've grown through my counseling journey, I've realized that the counseling profession has a long way to go with not only the LGBTQIA+ community but also with the neurodiverse community. I am currently working on my Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision to help better train future counselors and to conduct research on the experiences of these populations and how we can better serve them.
