About My Clients
I welcome adult clients who wish to work on becoming the best version of themselves either individually or within the context of their primary relationship. Good emotional health is a congruence of ideal self and real self. Problems occur when there is a discrepancy between what you want to be and what you are experiencing.
My Background and Approach
I have been providing positive relationship encouragement to individuals, couples, and families since 2006. My education includes an MA in Community Counseling and Human Services from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and a Post-Master's Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. My role is to be a non-judgmental sounding board for your concerns. I will listen, and if problem-solving is desired, offer ideas on what you might want to do differently. However, I will not tell you what to do. No one knows what is best for you more than you as you are a unique individual. You are the one who will face the consequences of your choices, so it's important you embrace whatever change you choose to make. I practice from a person-centered philosophy. You are the expert on your personal situation and have the means to resolve problems within a safe therapeutic setting.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My particular interests in the counseling process include facilitating personal change, promoting effective communication, and relationship enrichment. My style promotes self-sufficiency, personal strength, purpose, intentionality, authenticity, and kindness.
