Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is about challenging the way we think in order to improve the way we respond. This comes with figuring out which "thinking errors" we have using, whether they are conscious and/or unconscious.

Although trauma may be a part of your story, it is not the end of your story. It will be a rough journey ahead to work through all the crooks and nannies of trauma but it is a well-deserved investment in your life. You get to re-create the narrative of your story... with a different ending.

Anger is a secondary emotion. Sometimes, it’s a “defense mechanism” although it may not be a healthy one depending on how you utilize your anger. Much like the majority of an iceberg is hidden underneath the water, anger masks something underneath as well- jealousy, anxiety, guilt, insecurity, rejection, shame, embarrassment, grief, hurt, depression, the list goes on…

Do you feel fatigue nearly every day? Has your weight been fluctuating? Can you sleep nearly an entire day? Maybe you lost pleasure in doing things you used to love or haven’t had any libido in several months. If you are feeling unmotivated, hopeless, unworthy, irritable, tired of being tired… you are not alone.

You may have trauma from childhood you never resolved whether it was because mental health wasn’t a thing in your family or you were always told to “suck it up.” You could have also gone through trauma in adulthood whether that was from unconsented sexual trauma, an accident, violence, natural disaster, and/or other PTSD related incident like a combat deployment.
