About My Clients

Are you always a little bit afraid that an anxiety attack is waiting around the corner? Have you been hit with surprise anxiety more times than you can count? I know exactly what you're feeling: the pounding chest, the shortness of breath, the feeling that the walls are closing in and you need out NOW. Attacks can be terrifying, and I don't want you to have to suffer them anymore. Holistic practices can reduce anxiety tremendously, and I look forward to teaching you tools to take your life back!

My Background and Approach

My specialties are helping people to process depression/anxiety, stress management, trauma, and to incorporate mindfulness techniques. My work as a counselor over the years has helped me understand the unique challenges that face all of us on a daily basis. I have learned that you must allow yourself time to heal, reflect, and learn from your experiences to become more resilient. My hope is that we can all practice extending each other a bit more grace and work toward understanding each other as human beings. This means we all hurt, feel, cry, laugh, learn, and most of all love. Much of my work over the years has been rooted in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) though I am expanding my practice to include Somatic Experiencing in the coming year!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a Black Man, I am very well versed in the struggles my community faces. I work with families that experience trauma and children that have been though unimaginable levels of abuse and neglect. My belief is that we can heal as a society, but that means having difficult and uncomfortable talks. That means understanding and learning from the past, so history doesn't repeat itself. I am a firm believer that Black History IS history and that people should learn about it on more occasions than February every year. I live by saying, "Love is Love". I myself have been in an inter-racial relationship for over 20 years with my beautiful Latina wife. So, while some may be uncomfortable with that. I chose her and she chose me. I think that love can cross color lines and transcend the deepest levels of hate in a person's heart. Overall, I just strive to be a good human, neighbor, son, husband, and father. I choose over love over hate. I wish you all love and light through your life.
