About My Clients
I hear often the phrase, "I can't," but it is also followed by "I have to," for a variety of reasons, either the marriage is falling apart, they are living in a constant state of anxiety, there is a dark cloud looming, they don't enjoy things they used to, etc. My job is to give my clients the tools and the support they need to get back to the life they want and deserve. I work with individuals and couples struggling with a variety of issues, including OCD, anxiety, depression.
My Background and Approach
Not all tools work for all people, so let's design approaches that work best for you. I want you to walk away from each session with something that is going to make a difference for you, something that you are willing to try. I cannot express enough how important the therapist-patient relationship is, above all else. I work closely with my clients to provide the psychoeducation that is crucial for them to “buy-in.” I keep up on the latest research and studies to make sure that I’m giving my clients the best therapy possible. Additional info: I have worked as a court reporter for 25+ years, so I do have great familiarity with the court system.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every one of my clients can grow and change at whatever point they are in their lives and no matter their surroundings. I also am extremely aware of how difficult life can be with intense loss, intrusive thoughts, panic, relationship turmoil, career issues, financial struggles, blended families, loneliness, trauma, to name a few. I myself have been through some of these challenges, and little "nuggets" and tools that I was given along the way helped me get through it. I want to share some of those with you. I am more than happy to set up a consultation and see if we are a good fit.
