About My Clients
My clients are adults navigating trauma that keeps resurfacing, grief that no one seems to understand (including the slow grief of caring for an aging parent), or the exhaustion of managing an undiagnosed ADHD or autistic brain in a world not built for them. Many are high-functioning, first-generation, or bicultural — carrying pressure that's invisible to the people around them. My Background and Approach
I'm a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY 27320) with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. My training spans bilingual Systemic Family Therapy at the Latino Family Therapy Center, CBT-based community mental health work, medical psychology at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, and psychological testing in a university setting. I later focused on trauma work in low-income communities across Van Nuys and South Los Angeles. My clinical training includes EMDR, DBT, trauma-focused therapy, grief-focused work, and attachment-informed approaches. I've spent over a decade as a clinical supervisor, training therapists — including a supervision group specifically for trauma clinicians. Teaching keeps me sharp and accountable to how the field is evolving. Therapy with me is warm and direct. I hold both nurturing empathy and honest feedback, because sometimes what heals is being gently told what you already know. Bilingual (English/Spanish) sessions available.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a bilingual Latina psychologist, and my work is grounded in cultural humility and awareness of how systems shape mental health. I approach neurodivergence not as a deficit to be measured, but as a valid way of being. I'm committed to affirming and inclusive care for LGBTQ+ clients, and I actively work against pathologizing frameworks that have historically harmed BIPOC, autistic, ADHD, and immigrant communities. My immigration psychological evaluations are informed by training with Physicians for Human Rights and years of experience with survivors of trauma, torture, and persecution.
